I was thinking about painting some of the standard lead weights to keep them identified and not mixed up with others. Can I just Krylon or Rustoleum spray paint them yellow or orange? Any experiences positive or negative? I could just use a paint marker to initial them as well.

I have read of people using plasti dip.

I used to mark my weights on the liveaboard with safety yellow marking paint, the kind that sprays with the can upside down. It would last a couple of years in commercial liveaboard use, about 1000 dives

I plastidipped the p weight I cast for my backplate. Works ok, but it's starting to peel in the corners.

I wasnt sure how long it would hold up. Thanks for the info.

I've seen painted weights, and they looked kinda ugly, with most of the paint already peeled off and probably no more than quarter surface still painted. I'd rather use colored tape or nylon cord, if I had to. Or maybe colored cable ties.
