Paint, tape, or shrink tube hard weights to keep them from marking stuff

So I have a rubber weight belt with pinch weights from Tin Man. I like them, a lot.

Like any hard weight they will tend to mark any surface they contact. Any suggestions for preventing this? Paint (may flake off)? Electrical tape (hard to make it look good, but maybe that doesn't matter)? Really big heat shrink of the type used for electrical wires?

Most lead weights will do this. you could try plastic tool dip, I've seen people use it on weights.
personally Its never bothered me enough to worry about though.

PlastiDip or rescue silicone tape.

I think plastidip is the standard solution.

Don't bother with the spray kind, that stuff will rub off with only minor effort. Get a large can of the "dip" kind. It works great and even comes in a variety of colors.

If you have new weights - just wait. The fresh lead WILL mark up things, but once it gets a dull gray coating from oxidation, the lead won't leave marks so readily. The tool dip stuff will peel off after a year or so.

Or just wrap the lead in duct tape - if you have a friends with fancy boats.
