Is taking pain pills, specifically Loricet, have any possible negative consequences when diving. I am asking about physical problems like increased risk of DCS, etc. Not about possible bad decision making.
Thanks

Dear pluto:

To my knowledge, pain medications such as this do not influence the risk of DCS on a physiological basis. I do not have any research experience with this type of medication.

Anesthetic compounds are known to reduce the incidence of DCS (death in this case is the endpoint) in animals. This is, however, because the animals do not move and create micronuclei in large numbers. (Death or no death in sleeping animals is hardly a good indication of DCS anyway.)
