Hello,

my girlfriend attended the pool part of her CMAS * course 2 days ago and now still has pain in the joints of her hand. Could this be decompression-related? She was spending around 2.5 hours total under water, but never deeper than 5m.

What should she do, could this be dangerous?

I seriously doubt that these gas loads could result in joint-pain DCS. More likely, the diving experience (or some other activity at the same time) caused a sprain or strain. This might be casued by climbing out of the pool.

Concur with Dr. Deco's suggestion. Also hand related DCI is almost unknown, its extremely vascularized.
