I need some help. Who would you recommend for a trip to the Oriskany? My LDS scheduled a trip back in August but the boat we were supposed to go out on blew an engine a couple of days before our trip. Looking to make a couple of dives on the Oriskany this summer. There will be four definately diving and maybe a couple more if I can get them to go along. Any help you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Ron Shephard

LoL Ron i figure maybe, just maybe, the Oriskany DiveMaster might just recommend the Oriskany Divemaster for a trip to the Oriskany...just a guess tho...

It looked to me like the OP was looking ofr a boat recommendation. "Oriskany Divemaster" (aka Eric) is a person, not a boat (or a charter operator). He would, however, likely recommend Dave Mucci and the Yknot (http://www.bluwateradventures.com). Capt. Dave and Eric are both friends of mine, and I would recommend both of them!

Thanks Heather. I was looking for a boat/charter recommendation. I'll check out the link you put in your post. I've been out with Viking Diving (Capt. Tim Thorson) and a charter out of Orange Beach, AL but those are the only charters in the Pensacola area I have dove with. Thanks for the help.

Heather, the link did not work. When I did a search for blue water adventures I got a lot of stuff but not Capt. Dave. While we are talking about him and the Ynot, how many people does his boat carry and do you know what he charges per person off the top of your head?

Thanks,

Ron

Huh.. OK, sorry about that. If you just type bluwateradventures.com into the address bar, the website should come up (I just tried it). Be sure NOT to put the "e" in blu.

The Yknot is a 6 pack. $150pp is the going rate around here for Oriskany trips.

I was on that boat when it blew its engine. We made it back to port by a wing and a prayer. Never made it out to the wreck. It kinda spoiled any excitement for a return trip.

Heather, thanks again. I was finally able to connect to the website. Lots of good information. I have to talk to Capt. Dave about one of my divers. Just thinking out loud but I wonder if we have our own divemaster along if that wuld meet his requirement for an OW diver? Anyway, I'll definately be giving him a call about booking a trip. Want to dive the Oriskany? I need one more to make six!

Ron

P.S. you wouldn't be the only female either, come to think of it my daughter's boyfriend and I would be the only males.
