While purchasing my DM insurance the other day i noticed that tecrec DM was listed separately from regular DM. As a result, i was curious what is the difference between a tecrec DM and regular DM?

Is there specific training requirements that must be met? Or are you simply a Divemaster to your highest level of training? In other words if I had PADI tecrec trimix and was a DM would that make me a padi tecrec 40, 45, 50, trimix 65, and trimix DM, or is there some sort of tecrec DM course?

TDI has a specific DiveMaster qualification that has an entry level requirement of SDI Dive Master. PADI / TecRec may well be the same. I woudl hazard it is a lot different form a) leading open water divers, or b) conducting a tech dive as a diver
