Any PADI folks on here or somebody that knows...

I'm gearing up to move on to a Rescue certification, and according to the pre-req's, I'm supposed to have a CPR/First Aid certification. Does that mean any CPR/First Aid, like from a Community College? Or does it have to be a particular CPR/First Aid exclusively from PADI ? The PADI website isn't very specific on that, and I can only find one set of Rescue Diver training materials.

Thanks in advance.

If I recall correctly it can be any CPR/First Aid, such as what's taught by the American Red Cross, as well as other places.
They are usually taught by AHA, ASHI, or ECSI standards.

Enjoy your rescue class if taught properly it is intense but a lot of fun.

Ok, that's what I gathered by the PADI website, but it's not real clear. Thanks!

Anything that complies with the ILCOR standards should be sufficient.

You can take the course offered through PADI or any equivalent course. For example, St. John's Ambulance or Red Cross have primary and secondary care courses. If you go to the Emergency First Response website: Emergency First Response, you can look at the syllabus for Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid). Anything covering the same material should be fine. Double check with the Rescue Diver Instructor and they should be able to confirm whatever agency you decide to use.
