PADI Jr. Scuba to Jr. OW - eLearning question

My son received his Jr. Scuba cert at a scuba camp. They used the physical book for the class and took quizzes on paper. He is now about to start the upgrade process to Jr. OW. Is it possible to purchase eLearning for just the required upgrade content instead of the full open water class? He will be doing the upgrade while we are on vacation and would prefer to avoid him spending time in the classroom if that can all be done in advance. Of course would prefer not to have to pay for all of the open water elearning when we just need part of it.

By looking at the standards in the instructor manual he should have completed the book portion and confined water dives 1-3 and open water dives 1&2 to achieve Junior Scuba Diver. To move on to Junior OW he would need to complete confined water dives 4-5 and open water dives 3-4. Now he may need his student file or a referral from his instructor to show the shop that will be signing him off. I would contact the shop you will be using and find out what they need so this is resolved before you go. I've seen many people disappointed on vacation trying to finish a class because they didn't check ahead of time and just show up. The shop will need something to prove were he is on the certification scale. Please another instructor jump in and correct me as it has been awhile since I've dealt with this.

Jr. Scuba Diver only includes knowledge development sections 1 thru 3, so he still needs to complete 4-5. That is the crux of my question, can just those two sections be purchased for eLearning without repurchasing the entire course.

I've asked two shops, neither knew but both offered to teach those sections in the classroom. Just looking to avoid that due to time constraints while on vacation.

The eLearning comes as a package so don't think you can separate it. Attached is what the requirements are straight out of the 2025 instructor manual. It's been awhile and I missed this section about the knowledge reviews. We always taught it just as open water and the scuba dive cert was the fall back so all the knowledge reviews and final were completed.

Got it. Makes sense. In this case the Jr. Scuba was the most that was offered as part of the scuba camp, so they only did the minimum requirements for it. I'll just have him do to the entire OW eLearning. Will be a good overall review anyway.
