I just recieved my PADI AOW and Drysuit C-Cards from my LDS. There is a different Diver number from my OW. My Buddy who took the course at the same time recieved both Cards with his original OW number on them. My LDS said it's no big deal and will not hamper me in the future when I do other PADI courses (EFR & Rescue). But does this not screw with PADI's numbers of Certified Divers, I would count as 2 divers?

Has this happened to anyone else?:06:

Never heard of anyone receiving the same number, all of mine have been different. As far as I know you only keep the same number when you go pro, I could be wrong though. They reflect the year and month that they are issued, first four digits anyways. Anyone know if there is rhyme or reason to the rest? You can get your numbers from the replacement card section of the website to verify.

I'd say it's VERY unusual that the numbers are the same. I've not seen anyone get the same number (other than a pro). Once you get to DM status, I believe that number will stay with you.

IDD issues the same numbers (professionals get a different prefix)

I suspect your buddy may have a problem. Go to Padi's web site and look up each of you by name and birth date. Confirm that all of your cards are there, then confirm his. All three of my Padi cards have different numbers, and his should, too. :)

Your Right, my student number is even different on my AOW to Dry Suit. I'm seeing my buddy tommoro, maybe he was reading the Shop No. or Inst. No. instead of Student No. BTW Thanks for not making me feel dumb :sorry19z: about this post.
