PADI IDCS Upgrade

Don't know if this question belongs to this forum but the question is:
Finished my PADI IDCS course in last May. Now do I need to do the Upgrade course in order to teach the Assistant Instructor course or no upgrade needed?

• What is you status with PADI? They already informed you you have your status updated?

• You become IDCS after the course and you do not need any upgrade to start teaching AI courses. Check you GENERAL STANDARDS AND PROCEDURES, PADI memberships, under IDCS. However if you do not teach AIs or staff in an IDC, then you need the IDCS updates to maintain your status, otherwise you loose your status (i'm not sure what is the time period, i guess annually).

However most advise to complete two (2) IDCSs or at least that you staff with the CD before you independently start teaching AIs. The more you staff, the better control you have over the process.
I started teaching AIs after my 1st IDCS. However having staffed in 4 IDCs with the CD, i find the confedence i gained is much more beneficial and has helped me and my students alike.

• There is a special section for instructors in this forum and you can gain access to it by simply registering to the forum. It is there you can ask these types of questions.

Also PADI training is there to aswer all your questions. Don't be afraid to ask. They will answer all your questions even the most obvious ones, so don't be afraid to ask.
