As PADI Pro members we are automatically (non paying) members of PADI Diving Society and thus receive Sport Diver Magazine at no cost as part of our PADI membership. As of Jan. we will no longer be able to receive the magazine in paper form, only digitally. Reason given is this is better for the environment (true of course). If concern for the environment is the real reason, why can paying Society members still get the paper form? Perhaps because a certain % of people would drop out of the Society and that is loss of membership money? Rhetorical question.

Our local newspaper recently pulled this, thus we have no more Sunday paper. The Sat. paper is now a huge "Weekend" paper, but I guess they save a lot of money on salaries, at least SOME paper, and printing machine activity on Sundays.

if environment was the concern, why do they keep sending me paper renewal forms when I have told them over and over that I don't want to be a member of their organization after they failed to send me my free sports bag

I continue to send back the form indicating I don't want to be a member just so they get charged the postage.

I'm fine with receiving Sport Diver Magazine in e format, it saves me time. Instead of walking from the mailbox to the recycle bin and dropping it in, I can now just hit delete.

Agree on that--there's not much in it anyway, but I don't have a tablet, etc. and the mag. is good for the bathroom. A couple of uses for it in there anyway.
