I have a very good friend on Maui who is looking to certify divemasters in order to help qualify for his next level of achievement. Kris and I did our IDC and IE together there in '06. Kris is now a Master Scuba Diver Trainer and IDC Staff Instructor. He and I dove virtually every site on Maui and we're both expert guides with hundreds of dives.
I recently moved back to Golden after 3 years on Maui. If you are interested in participating in a quality PADI divemaster intern program sometime in the next few months, please PM me. I can take care of your academics and skills, and Kris can do your intern dives and final check out dive on Maui.
I will be in Maui starting in mid August for a month or so and I'm also looking for rescue, AOW students and OW students - especially referrals. On Maui because of local regulations, I do not charge a fee for certs - just pay for your PADI PIC, equipment rental and optionally boat charges. If you feel it's warranted, any gratuities help me pay my professional insurance. I have a day job and teach strictly for personal enjoyment. I do prefer to do AOW students and OW referrals; as I enjoy doing the OW dives more than the skills. HOWEVER - if I can get a group of at least 3 OW students together (either here or there) I'm willing to rent a pool and do the entire course. When you do OW/AOW dives with me on the boat, you get the advantage of a personal dive guide as well. My last AOW student is finishing his divemaster cert right now and I can provide referrals if you'd like.
