Hi Everyone

How many tmes have you heard this on a dive boat, what is your dive plan.

Insted of saying no deco dive time 35 minutes or so (skipper now has no idea when to be concerned, if your not up or your smb is not up..)

Why not say no deco dive, run time 35 minutes, if my smb is not up by 30 minutes i have a problem.

Over to you what do you think.

I would say no because that makes you have to send up the SMB signal right on time, which means if you have a momentary screw up instead of fixing it yourself the cavalry is coming.

How about no deco, 35 minutes, smb up by 35-40 minutes?

Run time dive planning is a superb way of getting everyone to plan there dive, dive there plan.

And its a good way to have fun under water, but teaching at the same time.

If you ever drecide to do into the dark side (deco diving) this is the way they plan there dives.

When I am running a charter I know the depth that I drop people off in and I know both what the tables say and what most people will do based on computers and air supply. The only time I need to be told the profile is with tech divers.

Excellent, is this with a group you know, for eg i breath at 12 ltrs per minute and in the UK the skippers like to have dive plans.

Just a thought no critism of anyone ;)

If the captain asks I will tell them my dive plan and give my max run time..

Why is this the "dark side"? Most of the charters I do are deco dives. If they weren't you would only get to see half of the wrech.
