Just wann ask, is PADI allowed to share 1 Manual in a certain course in 1 family? example 4 members of the family wants to take Open Water diver course, can they just buy 1 Open Water manual and then share since they are family, or is there any Multimedia avalaible for this case. Is there a program like this before from PADI.

Padi General Standers and Procedures require that ever diver have there own reference material. While this may seem a bit silly in you case it is for the safety of the individual diver. After you certification you may not dive for a year or more and it's good to have to brush up on you theory.

I know PADI become strict now on 1:1 ratio 1 manual for each student plus you cannot just buy the PIC alone, is this a mandatory to any of PADI territories around the globe? How about before?

Previously this was possible with PADI courses but as of last year the rule was changed here in Asia Pacific to ensure all students had their own dedicated materials. See below:

Family sharing exception

From January 01, 2012 it is no longer allowed for families or friends to share manuals.
The information can also be found on the PADI Pro site in 1st quarter 2012 Training Bulletin under Frequently Asked Questions where it clearly states the following: "There are no exceptions to the required materials standards, even when family and friends take the course together".
For further clarification or questions please contact our Training Department on traindep@padi.com.au

Previously we were able to teach family member in the same household using a single book with multiple PICs - I'm sure there could be no other reasons behind this change other than genuine concern for student welfare on behalf of PADI should a potentially disastrous event occur in the future which would require two people in the same house to need to refer to the family book at the exact same time - aren't we all just so lucky that PADI always has our interests at heart ;-)

How about the e-learning gift pass, how does it work? Is it an on-line course and then after that you can buy just the PIC alone?

Anything that causes you to lose money and PADI to gain is something PADI is very very strict on! For your own safety.

It is unlikely that one family member would take the time to illegally xerox the manual for the others, so it would then be a safety issue down the line when the others have none to refer to when out on their own. I know of many divers who often refer back to the OW manual. As a retired Band teacher I can say I have never, ever copied music parts for students.
