So over the last year (for the 1st time in my life) I've gotten a bladder infection and now joyfully... a case of Epididymitis which god help any men out there you never get it (ouch).
I'm attributing both these cases to my weekly diving in a drysuit with a p-valve, wearing the p-valve device for several hours at a stretch. After the bladder infection several months ago I became religious about rinsing out the catheter tube and outlet with vinegar hoping to kill off any bacteria looking to take up home. Evidently... its not working.
So my confusion is ... why does no one else seem to have this problem?? I've googled the net and searched several boards for best practices on cleaning out p-valve tubes but find nothing. No one but me has gotten this stuff from a p-valve?? I have none of the other "causes" of these infections in men (i.e. risky sex, multiple partners, medical conditions etc) so I can only assume its this plastic thing I hang off my genitals 1+/week.
Anyone have advice on what to use to disinfect the tube or any medical advice to dispense?
