media release today about their Photo Competition!
ThereÃÔ no better way of sharing the thrill and adventure of diving than by capturing that perfect underwater moment on camera. Recognising the increasing popularity of digital photography and its impact on diving, the fourth OZTeK Underwater Imagery Competition allows underwater photographers the opportunity to show their creative talents and win some great prizes.
Sponsored by Scubapro Australia, the Underwater Imagery Competition will be held in conjunction with the OZTeK?9 Diving Technologies Conference & Exhibition, (to be staged at Australian Technology Park, Sydney, Australia over the weekend of the 21st and 22nd March 2009) and will focus on images drawn from around the Asia/Pacific region.
Offering underwater photographers enormous scope in subject matter and with separate judging criteria for both the Professional and Novice sections - the OZTeK?9 Underwater Imagery Competition invites entries in the following three categories:
Cave and Wreck Diving images are often overlooked in traditional photographic competitions. These two sections allow specialist photographers an opportunity to compete on an equal footing with other competition categories.
The Open category includes any underwater image including marine life and divers and encourages underwater photographers to use their creative imaginations.
In addition, there will be a Á£est Of Show Award. This will be open to professional and novice alike, who have submitted entries in at least two of the individual categories: i.e. Cave, Wreck, and Open.
To be judged by some of the regionÃÔ most experienced and accomplished underwater photographers, the judging panel will also include a number of invited OZTeK?9 Guest speakers.
Prizes including overseas dive trips and equipment - will be awarded following the screening of the competition entries, expected to take place in the main theatre on Saturday 21st March 2009 during the OZTeK late-afternoon Conference Sessions.
