I guess if you have to cook them....Outside of gulf coast oysters, SC oysters are the best...but they are all best eaten raw IMO

Sure oysters filter water. But there are plenty of filter feeding organisms out there. Clams and mussles (two other bivalves) are also filter feeders. Sponges are filter feeders. Coral filter feeds and has commensal algae.
