I saw a lovely (and expensive) bottle of water at my local used-to-be-a-co-op but is now a giant-gourmet-groucery-store health food market that claimed to have extra oxygen added. A quick web search indicates to me that some people think this sort of water to be incredibly healthy, and some think it's a scam. My first thought was "good for off-gassing??"

Does anyone know anything about whether or not the oxygen in such a beverage could actually be absorbed into blood/tissue to such an extent as to be helpful?

Wow, I can't stop laughing... think I'm going to die laughing ...

Oxygen is very poorly soluble in water and a bottle of water would carry so little of it as to be entirely useless.

drink H2O2 instead ,, it's cheaper..... jk

You use it to wash down the anti-oxident capsules that you buy at the same YuppieMart.

Hi jk47,

I is entirely a scam.

First, as TSandM has indicated, 02 is very poorly soluble in water. The amounts that can be dissolved, even under pressure, are minuscule. Second, there is no mechanism by which 02 in a liquid you drink can make its way into blood circulation.
