actually i just got back from HomeDepot and bought 2 SS 5/16 bolts that are only about an inch long(maybe 1 1/2) with the upsidedown bowl type of head. and 2 SS wing nuts to match... oh and some lock washers.. this is all i need right?

quarrior isnt on but he said to have the wing nuts facing the tank.. do you think he meant on the opposite side of the tank but screwing down towards the tank? oh and about the washers... im not quite sure where all to put them.. should one be on each side.. one on the wing and then one on the bp under the wingnut.... and is the flat washer for the locking one to lock on or do you know the use of it?

I'm back, had an appointment with the VA.

Here's the sequence looking at the backplate from the side that will be touching your back.

Bolt, flat washer, backplate, wing, lock washer, wing nut.

hmm so the wing nut goes against the tank.. this wont be a stability prob?
Hasn't been for me, but then again I dive those big fat E8-130's. :D

If it seems like a problem you can always turn the bolts around which might result in tearing of the suit or get an STA.

thats true.. in a way if i can line them up right the wingnuts could serve as stabilizers
