For right now I am using cambands without a sta. the oxycheq wing has really big slots where the cambands thread through so it slides up and down... is there a way to stop this or should i just slide it up right before i tighten the bands around the tanks and let them hold it in spot.

thanks :14:

It's me again. :D There should be slots in the BP, bolt the wing to the plate, then put the band through the wing slot and BP slot and then reverse on the other side. That should stop the sliding. I don't use a STA, some suggest it, but I also dive nice big E8-130s and don't need it.

should i just find some bolts that fit or are there specific types i should get?

Stainless steel with stainless steel flat washers, stainless steel lock washers, and stainless steel wing nuts. Make sure they aren't to long, just enough to get the wingnut and lock washer on and tight. Feed them from the under side so the wing nut is facing the tank.

Easiest way is to take the wing and plate to Home Depot or Lowes and play in the nuts and bolts drawers.

I put an Oxycheq on my plate recently and didn't buy the STA. I had a Pioneer 27 on before without the sta. ButI noticed that when I inflated the wing though, it fills out and rubs against the tank pretty hard. I was worried about it wearing so I got an STA to hold the tank out away from the wing.

hey hank which one do you have the 30 or 45 and is it enough for ya?
I have the 30. It's plenty for me. I did notice that it seems a bit more buoyant though. Maybe because some air gets trapped between the inner bladder and the outer cover. I had to add 2 lbs weight when I switched from the Pioneer 27. I probably only need one but I don't have a 1 lb.

If your Home Despot or Lowes doesn't carry the right stainless steel components, try a boating supply store like West Marine. I know you have plenty of those down there!
