I just got a new Oxycheq 18# wing for single tanks. The wing looks great, however, the holes to attach to the BP and the STA do not seem to match up properly. I can get the bolts in, but they barely fit. Both the BP and STA are OxyCheq products as well, so one would think the holes would be dead centered for the STA and BP.

Is there a reason for this?

It just seems weird to me. If the holes in the STA and BP are off, they are both off exactly the same. I would think that if Oxycheq chose not to be standard, they would at least be consistant within their own product line.

All the oxycheq stuff I have used is on 11" centers. Might be a manufacturing issue. Call Oxycheq and let them know.

I would call them and talk to them before getting to upset, I am sure they will have an answer for you.

How do you like that little wing?

I had a wing that was the same way. It wasn't a mfg flaw... instead it was shrinkage.
I took a bolt and some weight (10 lbs I think) and soaked it in water and hung it to dry in the shade. It stretched that little tiny bit and now fits perfectly. Just a thought before you go off the deep end.

I also would agree it may just need some stretching. I suggest wetting the wing completely in warm water and then install it on the plate and continue to let it soak in warm water. Remove it from the water but allow it to completely dry still installed on the plate--see if that helps. I have had such issues with other nylon webbings, it is fabric and has some give to it if only a little.

Oh, I am far from upset. I bought this from ScubaToys and they shouldn't have problem with me returning it. I just hope there is a fix for this as it is an otherwise great wing from what I can tell.

My instructor has one issue with the fact that since it is so small, it doesn't taco over the tank as much as the older model and therefore might sacrifice some stability. That remains to be seen as I have not dove it.

I think that's the first time I've heard "not tacoing" being considered a down-side.

According to my instruction, the wing should optimally go half way up the tank on each side. It sounded good to me at face value, but I haven't dove this wing yet so I can't say either way beyond what was discussed in class.
