I have an Oxycheq plate and Mach V 30lb setup without STA.
The first stage is in my way when I tilt my head back. If I move the wing any higher the firsts stage will be position beneath the wing.

Who else is having this problem. I think the slim/taller profile of the wing is causing this problem.

never mind

Yes, that can be an issue with a BP/W. I suggest :

1) Put your tank as low as possible on the BP/W (by the way, without STA you can put it a bit lower than with a STA).

2) Put your wing as low as possible on your BP (AFAIK two positions are available with your setup, choose the lowest) so the reg doesn't interfere with the top of the wing

3) If your reg has a turret (like a SP Mk25) put it so that the turret faces downwards

4) Use a crotch strap tighten enough, otherwise when you're horizontal the BP may slip slightly forward, towards your neck.

Hope this will help.

PS: by "low" or "downwards" I mean : towards your feet

I dive the Oxycheq Mark V with an Aqualung Legend reg, with the first stage "upside down" (pointing down instead of up) and typically have no problem. The only time I even have it remotely get in the way is if I'm using a rented AL80 with yoke valve and I need to use a DIN/Yoke adapter.

That can depend on the STA. There are a number of STA's now with a mid slot (You no longer have to bug Nemrod for his mod, lol)

First pic is Piranah STA. 2nd pic is an Oxy 2pc STA with an 18# MV. The MV has a grommetted hole mid point in the center panel. I drilled my daughter's plate to line up.
