With Friday being Pearl Harbor Day, I thought I would post this again. In case some of you didn't catch this last year, my father was in the military during World War II and stationed at Pearl Harbor. I videod his incredible eye witness testimony of December 7, 1941 and you can watch it here:

Me too! My father was also a Pearl Harbor Survivor. Maybe your dad knew him. Don Kramer, USS California & lived in Youngstown, Ohio.

I'll ask him when I call him on Friday. Every year, the local VFW has a luncheon for the surviving Pearl Harbor Veterans in our area of Pittsburgh. I know last year, there were 9 of them left and only 5 of them were well enough to attend the luncheon. My mother said this summer that there are only 7 of them left now. This is a big affair with the Veterans, family members, Veterans officials, and local politicians.

My father was just getting over a bout of pneumonia, so we will see if he makes it this year, but he usually goes. I'll post up here how his day went. It is usually very draining and emotional for him.
