Oriskany in January... who's up?

I'll have to schedule a trip up to Pensacola sometime in January for work, and I'm wondering if anyone has plans to dive the O. Weekdays work better usually, but if need be I could coordinate a weekend trip.

I tried in vain to go out in December, but couldn't find any charters running while I was in Pensacola. Anyone interested in setting something up in Jan?

I would be happy to put a trip together for You with a Max of 6 divers.
Cost: 800 for the boat 6 divers OR less
The problem is not that boat Op's won't go out it is winter weather.

The big issue up here at this time of year is just what CAPT Gary said, weather blowing it out. If you are driving, I would bring your gear, get on someone's roster, and unfortunately stand by for the weather. An example is that it was a beautiful day on Tuesday out at the "O" but by noon yesterday, small craft warnings were up. If you are going to be here anyway, it is worth the effort though. Vis was 80+.

Also something to keep in mind is that week day trips during the winter months go out less due to captains being unable to fill their boats up to their required minimums. This is not the rule by no means, but the chances for making a trip out with the minimum or more are far more likely to happen on the weekends. If you do want to make a weekday trip I would call the dive shop or boat captain you are booking your trip with and put your name down early. This will let them know that there is interest on that date and they may be able to spark enough interest to make the trip happen. Then all you have to do have the weather cooperate.....
