There was a thread mentioning this BC a short while ago, but I think it was lost. At any rate, I finally pulled the trigger and bought one of these to replace my garage-heat hardened and too small Tusa. I haven't got it wet yet...I think I'll hit the pool this weekend and check it out. So far it seems pretty solidly constructed, and there are D-rings everywhere, not that I have stuff to hang on them!

Its got integrated weight pockets...two non-droppable trim and two droppable I think...what kind of weights do people generally use with this...the bags of lead shot?

Also, there is a little loop attached with a velcro connector, to the BC...I don't know how to describe it. Its apparently for holding something, but its on the wrong side for the octo I think. Anyone know? My Tusa was ancient and didn't have any of this "fancy stuff" :D

That loop is for your inflator hose. I never use it on my Orion.

We've used the heck out of the two I got for my wife and I. They've been decent, and certainly good value for the price...but I've also had to repair splits in the bladder on both of the BCs. We use lead shot weights in the droppable pouches, but they are fine with regular weights if you are using lead from a dive center.

I think you're talking about the velcro loop on the shoulder, right? I actually have one on each shoulder, not sure why...I just noticed that. However, what I'm talking about is lower down...I don't think the inflator would even reach that? It almost looks like a wrist lanyard that you see on some lights, only its attached via a velcro "connector" to the BC, so you could yank whatever is attached to it off the BC if you needed to. I would have thought perhaps an octo holder, only its on the wrong side.

What caused your bladder splits, any idea? Or just random splits?

I think you're talking about the two bungee cord loops connected together with a two-sided velcro tab.

If so, my wife and I use that for our SPG. We took the small velcro loop and connected it to the gauge. Works really well and keeps it nicely at hand and not dangling.

Not sure about the splits in the bladder. One of them might have been related to a tall giant stride entry with a bit of air in the BC. The other...just happened.

Did they repair it for you?

Yeah, that's the one...I'll have to play around with that.

That really stinks about the bladder. I hope that was an isolated case :(
