Ordering replacement 5060 and battery question

Tax return came in today, which is great because I can order another 5060 to replace my paperweight. Yep, gonna get insurance on this one right away

Question on my old battery though. Is it unlikely that my original battery, that was in the camera when it was flooded, would be in proper working order? If I were to try it in the charger or in the new camera - could it mess up either?

I already have a spare battery, I bought it with the first camera, I wouldn't be opposed to having multiple spares though...

i would try it in the charger first but be near it as these lithium ion battery have a tendency to explode when they get messed with a little. I dont think the water would hurt it though. My cell phone got drenced out on the boat this summer and i dried it out real well the phone actually came back to life and the battery is fine. I would think that it should be ok.
