EDIT: skip the rest of this post, and continue through the thread... we are not ready to order. Post your thoughts on what we want to do.

Ok...here's the deal. If we stick to lighter colored shirts where they don't have to switch artwork and inks, it ends up to be 9.65 per shirt. This includes the diver in black, the lobster in red, and the dive flag in red and white.

If we want to do dark colors also... the cost goes up to 13.00 or so per shirt.... ONLY if we get 24 or more of each type (24 light shirts, 24 dark shirts). If we get less than 24, the cost climbs more.

I'm leaning towards sticking with light shirts.

Colors available:
White
Dark Grey (she said this dark shirt would work ok)
Light Grey
Tan
Natural
Light Blue
Orange
Key Lime

there might be other colors that would work...but I think the above should make most happy (hopefully).

Post your thoughts here...

Post quantity here that you want, so everyone can see where we stand, plus keeps the thread at the top so everyone gets a chance to see it.

PM me your order. Include color, sizes, quantity.

It'll take 2-3 weeks to get the shirts once I order.

I'll take orders for 1 week. I will put in the order next thursday (Oct. 24th) before I leave for FL!

I will collect the money at the Nov. 2nd get-together. Shirts should be ready Nov7-14.

If you are not planning on being at the Nov.2 gathering, state so in your PM... I'll make other arrangements with you.

I'm cool with just light colors...

I'll PM my order as requested... but:

1 Natural, 1 White, 1 Light Gray. XL

I was really psyched for the black shirt, and liked that design version a lot better, but I guess if everyone feels that a red dive flag and lobster are worth the price increase and limiting the shirt selection to light colors I guess I'll go with one light grey XL.

I think you all might want to see what the shirts will look like that way before deciding though. I'm concerned that just the black outline of the diver with only the lobster colored in looks kinda crappy (IMHO) on non-white shirts. The lobster might be red, but if the diver's and lobster's eyes are tan, the red might take away more than it will add. If it's two tone, there's no expectation of proper color, but as soon as some is added, it can look very wrong without being full color.

Unfortunately, my graphics stuff is at home, so I can't try it out from here.

Personally, I'd say we should either go black, white, and red front and back, or not do red at all. If you want to do that, I can whip up new templates easily enough.

As an added bonus, if we use both black and white, it shouldn't matter what color the shirt it goes on is. It'll look the same on light or dark.

ok...let's figure this out.

I can see that the red lobster could cause problems... Let's stick with all black on the diver/lobster, and red and white for the flag.

everyone also post what they would order if both light and dark shirts are avail. If we meet or go over 24 of EACH... then we get up to around 13.00/shirt (art setup doubles... dark shirts add 1.00 per shirt). That price can probably vary 1.00 or so.

Less than 24 of either type jumps the price.

I still think it'll need to be red, white, and black if we're doing color. The flag probably should have a thin black outline, but even if it doesn't, I don't think the "N.E.L.D." part should be in red or white. White with a black outline maybe, or black with white, but either way if you want one pattern for all shirts it'll take more than two colors to look good.

The other option would be two different front designs for light and dark shirts, like I made initially, but with red added appropriately.

Red will look good, but it's expensive to do right. That's why I left it out.

If we do two colors, I'll take at least 2 dark shirts and one light, but I might take more and if it's all the same I'll hold off on committing until we figure out what we want to do.

I'd like to give folks the opportunity to look at what the final design will look like before they place definate orders as well.

let me make up some proofs of different options against tan and dark green backgrounds so we can make informed judgements.

but I will call you a pain in the ass. ;)

This was so very nearly easy.

I know you guys are probably going to kill me for even mentioning it, but wouldn't the flag be cool in red as well as the lobster???
