Care to explain?
My car runs great. Then I run out of gas. Then it doesn't run great.

I'm going to hold off making comment on reliability / durability until I buy a new set of batteries. I think that might be the issue with my 550s. I had used steel wool to clean off the contacts and the threads on the head / base and thought that seemed to work ok, but that didnt work so well on the last trip. So I have new batteries coming soon to see if that fixes the issue of them not coming on,

Made a few dives yesterday, it was a nice viz day with plenty of light but used the 550 to look into darker spots, hung it on my wrist for dive 1 and used the supplied wrist sock for the second

the sock was handy but it is a little loose in use, I clipped it off to the loop

it’s proving to be a very handy light, I ran it on high for about 2.5 hours, still shining bright.

This is how I’ll use this light, clipped off and with the tail push button switch I don’t need to interact with it much in use, push point and if I see something in a hole go in for a closer look.

so far a nice handy and easy to use light, compact and light enough to be there when you need it.

nothing to do with the light but took a self portrait

Nice conditions, probably the last of the year with a series of storms moving through soon.

Cool, lucked out then. I've not been in the water for 3 weeks now, that's the longest I've been out of the water in years, Likely at least another 5 before I can again.

Did you dive dry? Assume so from photos.

Home waters is dry only.

Follow up, the rear switch is perhaps to easy to push,I tossed the d550 in my gear bag last week and when I was gearing up it was dead, I think my clip pushed the switch while driving to Monterey, probably best to unscrew it slightly before packing and in fact you can use it like a twist head as it will come on as soon as it’s tightened so it can be used like that and use the switch to cycle through power settings.
