Hi! I'm going to be visiting family in the Laguna Beach area around 8/20-8/25 and was wondering about places to dive in the area? Also if anyone was interested in diving in that time it'd be great!

Laguna Sea Sports and South Coast Divers both have websites that describe the various dive sites in Laguna. LSS is a dive shop right above Shaws Cove which is a very popular and easy site. If you call ahead, you can get a guided dive of the cove if you want. I don't know what the cost is.

SCD meets every Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 in the Laguna Hills Mall next to the Fish House and then drives into Laguna Beach. It is best to go with the Saturday group if you are new to diving or new to diving Laguna Beach. There are always new faces in the group so not knowing anyone in advance is not a problem.

The SCD group rarely goes to Shaws and does hit some sites with long surface swims (e.g. Deadman's in Crescent Bay).

Mgarcia26, I see you just got certified... congrates!!! so you are only here Monday thru' Sat 25th... are you flying back home on Saturday?... if so diving is out for that day and most of Friday. ( oh proudly change your profile and also let your future buddies know where your from ).
