You are about to be inundated by backplate people.
HAHA ain't that the truth!!

Scubakevdm:
Of the two, I like the Zeagle. You are about to be inundated by backplate people.

I agree with your recommendation of the Zeagle (if those two are the only options), however, I would like to post the question: Have you ever tried a BP&W for single tank diving??? Dont dismiss it so easily if you have never tried it.

I agree - beware the backplate brigade!.... I've owned a Ranger LTD and loved it. It has a better weight integration system than the Black Diamond, plus a 1050 denier bag over the bladder for better protection against abrasions and punctures. IMHO, it's probably the best BC on the market for rec/advanced rec diving.

I'm not dismissing backplates, in fact I wasn't really trying to say anything at all about backplates. It was the owners of backplates that I was trying to prepare him for. It was meant to be kind of a light hearted remark. Sorry. Anyway to answer your question, yes I have dived BP/W. It's a Halcyon 36# with SS plate. I still have it, it's nice for doing some stuff. I usually wear a full jacket BC though, I like it better for the diving I do most of the time. Please don't try to make me like backplates more than I like them now.

This statement speaks for itself...

I wouldnt try to make someone like something. All I am saying is that if vance hasnt TRIED a bp&w yet, he might want to before he buys a standard rec BC.

If you are looking at the LTD you are probably thinking Tech down the road? I know I bought the Ranger and added some things thinking Tech. Well now I am looking at a BP/W. Don't get me wrong I love my Ranger and I will keep it for O/W but it won't do for what I want to do. Just my .02
