Beuchat VX regs are rarely mentioned...I have one vx that I have over 300 dives on and is still used as my backup/second on my cave rig

I purchased Beuchat VX10 Evolution as my first regulator. I still use it on my singles. I love the reg. It breathes well and I've never had a problem.

Beuchat's customer service is great. I needed service in order to convert the Evolution into an Evolution Iceberg. I didn't want to take it to the shop where I'd bought it due to a major falling out.
I needed it for the weekend. Beuchat agreed that, if I'd pay for overnight one way, they'd service it and pay for the return overnight.

The reg went out on Monday and was returned on Wednesday. You can't beat that.

I believe that you don't hear much about Beuchat because they don't have much of a presence in the U.S. Their dealer network is rather small and you don't see them advertising. The upside to thsi is that their regs are somewhat less expensive than the bigger brands.

my wife and i both dive vx10s in the international version which is din with a yoke adaptor. it has a great reputation among european tech divers outside the uk (for our british friends there seems to be no alternative to a homegrown apeks). i actually read some article lately about the hogarthian way and it said the regulators of choice are apeks, beuchat and scubapro. a nice detail about the beuchat is that you will have a hard time finding a reg with less bubble interference. this seems to be an issue with apeks since they moved to the slimmer atx seconds.
service around here is no problem. the hoboken dive shop carries beuchat and the great devil across the river (=leisure pro) also does.

docmartin once bubbled...

Actually, that doesn't surprise me. When I took DIR-F, my instructor indicated the a Beuchat was acceptable.

just followed another link and found the list of diving equipment authorized for navy use by NAVSEA (naval sea systems command)

http://www.supsalv.org/anu_page.html#1.4 REGULATORS, COLD WATER SERVICE

it shows that the beuchat vx10 is authorized for navy use to 190 fsw and 38 degrees fahrenheit. since navy authorization requires extensive testing you can safely assume that the vx10 is a pretty reliable piece of equipment.

I've had a VX10 for about six years and have had it down to 165 feet with no problems at all. It breaths the same at that depth as it does at 10 feet.

Luv it!!
