I am looking to buy my first BC, what are some opinions of the Zeagle Escape or Scout?

Never used either so I can't tell you much about them, but a bit of generic advice: if at all possible try before you buy.

what they said plus they are back inflate. very seriously considered zeagle escape but since couldn't try on and never used back inflate before passed.

I have dove a Scout for a good many years...along with back plates, vintage harnesses, jacket styles and pretty much every thing else. All in all I find the Scout a great all around BC. I prefer back inflates, which it is and I like an intergrated weight system if I am using weights. I have dove the Scout in everything from a t-shirt and bathing suit to a dry suit and it preforms well with them all. The one drawback I see with it is the limited weight intergration. I am diving the older, stripped down style with only the 2 pockets in the rear for weights. 90% of the time they are fine for my use (I use no weights in warm fresh water and 4 in warm salt) but if you need more than 10 lbs or so it will tend to roll you on your back. This is easily taken care of with a weight belt, which is what I do when diving dry. You will not find a better company for service and quality than Zeagle. It packs small and is fairly light, somewhere in the 4 lb range. All in all, a great BC, esp for the price. I have been happy with mine.
