Was hoping to have one of my own to share today, after a very long break from hunting lings, but it was not to be. 3' viz and some impatient guests bobbing around in the boat kept me from that goal. Did see a couple of future dinner plate specials lurking in the holes.

awesome vis

light down to 165' then I ascended to nice vis and light, after awhile and 1000 psi left, found this fella DSC04966.jpg This ling could have bent me, kept swimming up and wanted nothing to do with safety stop. its 33" and 13#DSC04969.jpg water was colder and thermocline was in the shallows.

one day left

well I just decided another should go up, I have so many ling pics it is probably getting old, but I settled for this guy today.DSC04982.jpg Now it is dark so not real good shot on it. The last day tomorrow and all the boats were flying out after work tonight.

Anyhow here is another it might be a little better.DSC04983.jpg I thought I was posting alot, hell I only posted a few, its easier to send on phone so i guess I sent them to friends.

Anyways I speared in the 32" to 35" most every day, what a great time it was. seen lots of 40" to 50" and it was ok to pass by. With the limit size you actually have to spear more to have enough fish for the year, so it is alot more fun.

The funny thing was me and two others got bent, I was puttin the stone to the tip in the shop and woke up on the floor, sun shinning and neighbors came up for weekend. Jeff was tired and not feeling good, and don was having neurological problems, was in meeting and cheek was twitching. we all kept spearing and it went away, I got to tell ya if you get bent, just go diving it goes away.

Ling ended with a awesome sunny afternoon, and a ling fest after, the angler neighbor can run a knife, and we put ling on fire of various woods and so much of it, I know I ate 4 lbs my self.

many great dives and the vis opened up this past week to enjoy all the time down under.
