# of dives
I just don't log dives
I am currently reading books for TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression procedures. Could someone guide me on the number of check- out dives to practice the skills identified in the books?

Also, could these dives for TDI certification be done privately with a local TDI instructor or must be affiliated with a dive school? I was quoted about $800 to certify for both plus material, boat Charter fees, etc. Wondering what is the most economical way to be TDI certified in South Western Ontario as costs can escalate quickly.

thanks for any tips

From the Instructor Manual
2. If advanced nitrox is taught in conjunction with decompression procedures only a total of 6 dives are
required

Let me just say that is the minimum number of dives. Depending on skill level it may take additional dives or additional pool time.

Since I'm not Ontario I can't speak for resources there, but you should be able to obtain the training from a private TDI instructor. They may have a relationship with a facility for gas, pool or equipment.

@abnfrog might be able to give you some thoughts on this matter.

And two of the dives must be deeper than 100 ft but not exceed 150 ft.

Come on out to the west coast.....

Any TDI tech instructor in Tobermory area??
You might want to try something in the St Lawrence River. Enough depth there, and lots of charter boats.
