I bought a BCD from a reputable online source. It came with no owner’s manual (yes, I am a newbie and would like to know every aspect of my equipment) or warranty info (a purchase code is usually required to activate a warranty from the manufacturer- that little post card thing that you have to mail in, and yes- their site says warranties on all their gear).
I called reputable online source to let them know. Reputable online source said they would get those 2 items in the mail to me right away. No problem.
After a week of watching the mail I called them back. They said “we don’t have the owner’s manual or the warranty info”, then they gave me the phone number to the manufacturer so I could chase down the 2 items myself, which I don’t feel is my place.
They also said I could return the bcd for exchange. I don’t want to do this because I like the bcd.
Would this hack you off?

double posted- sorry...

I think I would call "reputable online store" and talk to someone in upper management, or the owner.. If they want to continue to be reputable they will do what's right...

I certainly understand wanting those things, but with some manufactures you can download owner manauls in PDF form, and register equipment on line.....You can do both on Zeagle's web site...

go on the manufacturers site and see if the online store truly is a authorized dealer. Most likely if bcd is Aqualung or Scubapro the dealer is not authorized.

What a bummer... I was lucky when I purchased my gear online as a newbie last fall; I didn't know that certain online dealers will not send that information, but fortunately the online scuba dealer was great.
I can see where you're angry, especially because they said they'd send you the info, and now they say they won't. I guess you'll have to call the dealer yourself if you're unwilling to exchange the BCD.
It's probably bad etiquette to ask this (and it may be against forum rules, I don't know) but from which dealer did you make said purchase?
