I was on the Aggressor to Cocos in May - The trip of a lifetime - I doubt I'll ever top it - Exactly as it has been described. Most of the time, before and after the dive, we discussed how it was we were going to explain this amazing experience to people when we got back, and finally we just decided that it truly couldn't be described to do it justice. Its like is like being engulfed by nature, both topside and in the water.
On the topic of seasickness - I need prescription meds just to fly, so I am not an easy traveller - I had about 20 scop patches and 3 bottles of dramamine (drowsy and non-drowsy) with me and besides the 2 I gave to my roomie, ended up with 1/2 a patch when I got home and a couple dramamine, but I never regretted the decision.
The crew was awesome, we were fed well (22 dives and I didn't lose weight!) - I am still going through Cocos withdrawal 2 months later... Thank God (and Javier) for the video and pictures... (which for some reason, I'm not able to upload...)

OK...I haven't written my trip report because I've been too busy trying to catch up, going to weddings, and being sick with the flu. One of my fellow boat mates has finished his trip report...and it is such an entertaining read...that I have to share it with you. I won't be able to come close to this...it's funny, it's accurate, and it's detailed...
The joke for those of you who do not know the author (Richard a.k.a Sapien) is that he is NOT at all a photographer and he has been "reprimanded" in the past for not including photos in his trip reports...so...he did on this one. As he was the ONLY non-photographer in our group of 22, I didn't want him to feel left out, so I took him a cheapo underwater camera, with a housing and an o-ring and all. As you can see, he had alot of fun with it
I hope you enjoy this report...he's a great writer and really captures the essence of our trip I'll post sme of my pictures to go along, but I am still working on resizing them and loading them into a gallery so I can post them.

That is one outstanding report.....I'm still sitting here snickering at his writing style, and the pics just make it funnier. The shot of the hammerhead behind the rock is just priceless....LOL.

Loved Richard's Cocos Trip Report! It made me laugh out loud (and here I am supposed to be working). Thanks for sharing the link, Christi. I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures.
That was a great description of the area- but language can only do so much. As we were cruising out to Alcyone one morning, I looked around the panga and thought, here we are its 8am on the fourth day in of 3-4 dives a day after a 40 hour ride from the mainland, having just woken up in order to put on wet, stinky suits, panga bouncing breakfast around in the huge waves, jetting out to sea, not along a safe quiet reef, but into a "water windtunnel" full of hundreds of hammerhead sharks and all 8 divers have huge goofy smiles on their faces. Its that spectacular.
Just hearing the word Cocos brings a smile to my face with the memory.

I just read Richard's report. Great way to start the day. A don't miss link is JudyG's gallery (at the bottom of Richard's report). Great slide show, and very interesting underwater shots. I aspire to take pics half as good as hers.
