Staying for a couple of nights in Denarau Island in Fiji in a couple of weeks.

Only have one day to dive - any recomendations on sites or dive operators gratefully accepted.

Cheers

The Sheraton Hotel at Denarau has a dive shop, or try Subsurface Fiji who also operate in that area.

Denarau is actually connected to the main island of Viti Levu by a roadway through the mangroves, so in essence, you're on the mainland. An independent operator such as Subsurface is not out of reach for you.

After diving fiji 3 times in 5 years, if it were me and I only had a day to dive, I'd hump my butt down to Beqa lagoon, about a 2-2.5 hour drive from Nadi area. It's WORTH the drive, I've dove the area around nadi and along the coral coast, it just doesn't compare even 25-50% to what Beqa lagoon will give you.

For the short time you're there in beqa, I'd skip the shark dive, and focus on the boomies and corals. Breath-taking.
