I am about to head home to Oceanside, My flight is leaving Okinawa Japan in about 6 hours and I am packing. I am not to sure if I going diving or not. Right now I have my log book and C-cards should I pack more? Or just rent if I get the urge to go?

Viz has been suprisingly good this winter, as you can see from some of the dive reports at the top of this section. It's easy to rent stuff in SoCal in the winter since there is not that much demand, but you might bring your mask, fins & regulator if you have them as they are probably better than what you can rent.

fins, mask, snorkle (required in laguna beach), boots and gloves are not available for rent from most shops. Those that do charge a high price.

Rental for tank, wetsuit, 1st & 2nd stage, computer, weights, BC runs $45-$65 per day or so (Sport Chalet is $45 with 1 day rental not counting the day of pick up or drop off.) For the entire rig, including mask etc the three shops in SoCal that rent them are in the $100 per day range. Ther may be one place for $85.00 per day. So better to bring that.
