On line OW and some help

I am a boy. I am trying to help my girlfriend learn to dive. I am after anyone's experience with E-learning and diving at a resort. Are there a way to help and or not help helping my GF out?
GF is athletic, adventurous, and a good swimmer. She is also busy, I learned a few years ago and not sure who I would do it with my scheduled, e-learn looks good.

As to lady info, is there something you learned I can introduce to her?
I do not even know what questions to ask.

Ask her does she want to learn to dive. Until the answer is 'yes', there is nothing you need to do.

Why elearning? What's wrong with a local instructor who will help her through the entire process and quite likely for much less expense?

jrl -- I try to do all of my private classes with PADI eLearning. It is my opinion that IF the student really wants to learn the material, the eLearning system is a good one.

Within the PADI system, there are three different "modules" -- the "academic" -- in this case, the eLearning; the "confined water" -- which is where the student is introduced to, and learns, the basic skills and is usually done in a pool (unless you are in the tropics and then in "pool like conditions.") -- perhaps in this case where she is, working with a local instructor; last, the Open Water Dives where the student gets to integrate the skills learned in the confined water and demonstrate certain specific skills while doing "real dives." This can be done either locally or by referral.

So, in your gf's case, she may want to do the eLearning and confined water locally before heading off on vacation where she'll do the Open Water dives at a tropical resort.

Does this make sense?
