Does that mean it's crap?
What's the problem? The sidestream is a copy of other designs and similar to a razor or Hollis.

I am not familiar with the unit. That said, it looks like it's supposed to sit pretty low and potentially like they want you to use the second bladder with the Camelbak-looking tube for oral inflation. I don't speak German, but the CEO wears it in part of this video and the inflator looks like it only comes to the chest D-ring, which is pretty low for oral inflation if it doesn't stretch. You could always buy and attach a longer corrugated hose.
