Hi all..

I've been contemplating a new wing for the past few weeks and i'm torn between the oms non banded 60lbs and the oxycheq 50lbs. I have used and like oms products, and i've heard really good things about the oxycheq. As far as quality goes, the oms seems very well built with the urethane coating on the inside, i've yet to see the way an oxycheq is built... anyone have any ideas on pros/cons?

thanks!!

I can only speak of the 40# Oxycheq Signature wing. It has around 200 dives on it and is still performing flawlessly. Really well constructed and it works great.

OxyCheq has the new 50lb Signature doubles wing, which is *really* heavy duty, and also has the urethane coating on the inside. The regular 50lb OxyCheq wing is one of the best selling wings in the lineup, so it's certainly popular, and they've been in the market long enough now to be proven.

Wow, you hit the nail on the head!!!!!! I would vote oxycheq. Not that I do not like OMS, I just never had a problem with any of my oxycheq products......I tend to stick with who I trust. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the Scubaboard. I own the OMS 60# Non banded wing for two years now about 70 dives with it, so far so good. The only cons IMHO is that corrugated hose (20") is too long, I found in the way when diving with deco bottles so I replace it with to a shorter one (16") for 20$.

I have been using an OMS 35 lbs unbanded for a singe tank for a little while now. Can't say better things about it. I have heard that Oxycheck is great too. My advice: go with either one. They're both good.

I own a oms94lb dual bladder-- and a diverite req wing-- both nice but my next bladder will be the oxycheq 40lb signature series wing--- why? Well first off the build quality of the oxycheq is second to none-- second of all the oxy40ss wing uses 24 mil bladders inside(close to twice as thick as most other bladders)(i think its 24--might be 22 but thick none the less) and last but the most important reason is that its a continuous loop.... Meaning the air can travel all the way around the wing-- so if your looking head down into a hole and need to move over to another hole facing the other direction the air can just go around the bottom of the bladder(which would then be the top at that point cause your legs up and head down) and to the other side.....I have talked to Patrick and he is a very very cool guy... His build philosophy is-- build it right the first time and he wont have to spend his time fixing warranty pieces. :yelclap:

goodluck

Does Oxycheq make a Signature Series double tank wing? Their website only shows SS single tank wings. I'm assuming the SS double wing has the same quality and style of construction as their SS single. I'm planning on buying a SS 45# single in the very near future.

Yes, there is a 50lb Signature doubles wing, it was released in Dec just before OxyCheq relocated to Florida, and Patrick hasn't had much time to update the website. I have one sitting here in stock in Oz, so they're *definitely* available, and not vapourware. Same outer shell and heavy bladder as the Signature singles wings.

Thanks for the info all!

i was looiking at the standard model, I was unaware there was a ss model available, i currently have the 94lbs single bladder from oms that i got for a really great price from an instructor friend, but i find it really huge. i haven't had any issues with oms quality of performance, just want to " simplfy!!
