G'day all

Just got back from Dutch Springs. I spent the weekend on the search & recovery and stress & rescue class.

What a difference! From the jacket BT I had used during my OWD certification class and a dozen or so recreational Caribbean drives.

As I had posted earlier I affixed the wing to the IQ pack using wire wraps. and used two cam bands weaved through the loops instead of using the STA.

This setup is very stable, I never once felt the tank move and I was able to manipulate the air valve with no assistance.

We were taught to drop weight and BC to tow the injured diver during an emergency situation. The one person in the class with a BP and no shoulder release mechanism, had a very hard time doing this and his time was higher than everyone else. In this case age of fitness were no factor since this diver was in better shape than the rest of the class.

I'm very happy with my choice on the IQ pack and I am thinking about ordering a FredT BP and "see the differences by myself.

Another thing I was diving with a regular weight belt and I'm thinking on getting a detachable weight integrated system. I’d rather not affix the weight to my BCD.
This is the reasoning behind this.

If the event of an entanglement, going through a restricted passage in a penetration I might have to remove my BCD and will shut up like a rocket with no way to control my buoyancy.

If any of you have ant recommendations... please let me know

what was the website? $360 for Iq + 45lb wing + bp!

That price i'll buy one for my girlfriend right now!

I placed my order on the 19th. As of October 1 (today), the order has not yet been shipped (the store told me that they were waiting for the bladder from OMS). The manager promised me I would have it this weekend. I'll post when I finally get it!
