I bought this set up a few months ago and i just picked it up a few days ago.

OMS IQ PACK
backplate s/s $135.98
single tank adaptor w/cam band 113.95
100lb lift single bladder (black) 348.30
iq backpack 290.25

Now for everyone who says the 100 lift is way too much and way too big i must say you are wrong. The bungied wings are the best. Once deflated they are so compact and tight. I can manually blow it up with ease. Anyone who cant blow up the bungied wings really should get their lungs checked and shouldn't be diving. This is truly an incredible set up and the design is supurb.

I will dive it in the next few weeks and report back. But right now after setting it up i dont see any of the problems people spoke of on the board. (none at all). I have it set up for a single tank to see if i get the hotdog effect. I will let you know

Wow
That sounds like a pretty good price and an excellent choice of gear. I have the comfort harness but everything else the same. I have owned the gear for about a year and I've put over 50 dives on it, and it is the best set up I have ever been under with. My wife has a 60lb bladder and the 100lb (94) is not much larger when only partially inflated. I dive a single steel tank and I have no issues with the hotdog effect.

Enjoy the wing

Please excuse my ignorance - what is this "hotdog effect" you are all talking about?

Large wing wrapping the tank, like the hotdog bun wrapping the hotdog

Also known as the Taco effect.

Wing wrapping around the tank in single tank use

I agree with you in allmost everything, except that the wing is way too much for single tank use, it can be contained with the bungies but it's way an overkill for single tank use.
A 100# lift wing would be needed for heavy doubles and stages.
My 45# bungied wing is too big for single tank use, but only in lift capacity, I agree that a 32# wing would be better, for single tank diving, but 45# is just fine and can be used for small doubles later, a small compromise that I'm happy to deal with.

Also I would have skipped the IQ and add a harness, easier to clean and less bouyant than the IQ.

Enjoy your new gear and report as soon as you get it wet

thanks for the info ill let you know as soon as i get wet. The guy i bought it from worked for OMS for years and he advised me since i will be diving mostly doubles go with the 100 lift. I came back to him numerous times and told him what people were saying here about it being way to big and he still recommended the 100.

We will see

I dove the OMS IQ pack for about 5 years with the 100# wing. After going to a BP/W, I am much happier, the 100# wing was just too much. Don't think I didn't like the IQ pack though, the quality is A+.
