Here is the scenario.

I dive an OMS SS 6# plate with a Halcyon wing and a single webbing harness. I have usually dived a 3 mm suit and have put between 2-4 lbs on a cam band weight pouch. I have found that this gives me a good weight distribution and trim setup. I also have a Halcyon gear pouch and a small mask pouch that I switch out depending on what extra gear I am carrying (always a small knife, spool, and shears, but for night dives extra light, strobe in the bigger pouch) that goes on the right side at my hip. I have never been too concerned with ditchable weights since I always felt I could swim my rig up and I carry a 6' SMB and a spool that I can use as alternate lift.

I am contemplating getting a AL plate for travel since I need to watch weight on inter-island flights, but this would mean putting 4-6 lbs somewhere. I have never really worn a weight belt since I started with an WI BC and would prefer not to do this. I was looking at the OMS and Halcyon integrated options but was wondering if anyone had any experience with them or knew how they worked, placement etc. From what I can tell I will not be able to wear my pouch with them but it would give me the ability to ditch weight. They are also expensive. I may also get a 5mm wetsuit next so would need to add weight for that also.

Any feedback/ideas/suggestions?

Ive got the H ones , very nice but the take up a lot of space .

There seem to be a lot of the H ACB pouches for sale various places. Most people who go with H are of the DIR persuation, and the problem with the ACBs is that they aren't actually DIR. (Go figure)

What a lot of people in your situation do is to get the trim weight pouches that mount on the tank bands of your single tank, slid all the way against the plate. Personally I just travel with a 5 lb DSS steel plate which is perfect in a 3mm wetsuit in seawater. :)

I agree. It sounds like you already might have one. Just get another and you'll be set.
If your weight requirements are low... and you dive a good buddy system... you probably won't need any ditchable weight.

An Al plate with two cam band weight pockets won't add any weight to your luggage and when you get to your dive destination you can put that 4 to 6 pounds in those pockets and you'll be stylin'. Plus... a controlled emergency swimming ascent is done with all weights in place, anyways. That amount of total weight is easy to swim up and if you are a good buddy diver then you won't have the need to drop weight for a blast-off buoyant ascent.
