Has anyone tried this computer or know any feedback about this computer, I am looking for one for programable nitrogen levels.
thanks

I have it by another name, the Dive Rite Nitek. Change it to yellow and change the name. I saw the same computer in Italy last week with a third company name on it. I bought it over others for a couple of reasons. I was looking for a plain, jane nitrox computer (21%-50% O2). I wanted big numbers on the display. I bought it for a good price from the store I deal with. I still wanted the computer download feature. I wanted to be able to replace the battery myself. (the manual says take it back to the vendor, but if I ask nice the shop will show me what needs to be done so I can do it myself) As far as the lack of backlighting goes, if the viz is bad enough that I can't read the display I most likely have a light on anyway.

Looking at the comparisons in Diver Magazine, the Nitek is a little on the conservative side compared to other computers out there. Depending on how you look at it one of the features can be annoying. After a nitrox dive the computer defaults to an assumption of 100% O2 and starts beeping at 20' if you don't set the O2 percentage to what is in the tank. Anytime the computer sees a surface interval of 10' it assumes a new dive the next time it hits 5fsw. So, if you float on the top for longer than 10 minutes and then head down again you will have to reset the O2 percentage.

If you are looking something fancy this is not the one to own. From what I can tell it does the job and just the job.

Jan,
I don't know if you have bought the computer you are asking about, but if you haven't, might I suggest an Oceanic data plus. I have one- it's easy to program for notrox 21%-50%, has a great manual, push button backlighting, and easy to replace batteries.
It does have a 50% Nitrogen default-similar to what Joelw said.
I have had mine for 3 years, and have no complaints.
