Does one need a STA with the comfort harness system?
If not is it worth adding an STA? (Secures the tank better? etc.)

Never doved a BP/wing setup and went ahead and purchased one without even asking, any opinions and comments are greatly appreciated..
Great site and Thanks in advance, AMC

Did you order the Comfort Harness with an OMS backplate? If so, the new version has camband slots, so you can go with or without a STA.

I use the Dive Rite version - the TransPlate - with a STA and love it.

I just got my new SS OMS bp with comfort harness about a month ago. You don't need the STA. You can use it to speed up your conversion between singles and doubles if you do that a lot. Otherwise, you just thread your tank straps through the plate. Works great.

PS. The new single tank wing has roll stabilizers built in to keep a single tank from moving around. Tight straps alleviate this anyway, but thought I'd mention it.

Thanks for the info CRdiver and MemPilot ... How do you like the harness MEmpilot? ... I also purchased the Harness with the new 32# OMS wing so I guess it should be ok ... We'll see when I finally receive it since I ordered from LP and is going to take a while because its back ordered ... another question if you guys can answer it : Is the new OMS 32# wing U shaped or Doughnut shaped?
can't really tell from the pics and been too lazy to call OMS ...
Thanks again, AMC

I really like the single tank wing, and the comfort harness is just that, comfortable. Getting in and out of it are easier than my one piece webbing harness. There are cinch straps to tighten it down. Or you can undo the quick release if you desire. You'll have to mess around with the harness a little to get it to fit right since it's a one size fits all. Just don't trim too much off the lengths until you're sure. The wing is very streamline and inflates quickly. For the most part, it is a donut. At the very bottom, it is sewn off to keep it from being a true ring. This is probably to keep from being sued by Halcyon. There is no difference as far as diving it though. I'm very happy with the purchase.

According to our OMS rep, the sewn off part at the bottom of the wing is to prevent inflation against the bottom of the tank (since that is the only place the tank crosses the wing) and thereby eliminate any discomfort or losening of the tank. In other words, it more efficiently wraps the cylinder.

I'm glad to hear you like you comfort harness... mine's still on backorder (go figure) but should be here soon.

I ordered mine from Adirondack? in NY. They seem to be one of the biggest OMS distributors for the East Coast and overseas. They shipped it same day and I received it 4 days later in SE FL. Thanks for the explanation of the sewn section. That's makes sense.

Thanks for the tip on Adirondak.
