My wife is looking for a BCD and from all my reading on this board if appears she (we) should consider a BP/W as an option. So far the only LDS within a reasonable drive that carries BP/W components carries 'OMS'. In all the lively debates on this board about what equipment is better,I don't recall seeing this name. Is OMS reputable? What is their relative quality? Functionality? etc.

They have been around a long time, they don't do a lot of advertising as far as I can tell, equipment is solid, reliable, and very high quality. Some divers on this board say their customer service isn't as good as some other companies, but that varies with individual experience. If I have questions, I just call them directly and speak to a live person. Check out their web site for gear specifications, and you will see it is made to high standards.

I use single tank setups with OMS wings and harnesses with DSS backplates, and they have served me well. I don't mind mixing and matching to get the performance and specifications I want out of my gear.

You'll get many opinions here, but my experience has been positive.

Just my 2 psi...

just test drove my first bp wing w/ doubles today. i was using a 60 lb oms wing and AL oms bp with oms bands on the doubles. other than trying my very best to stop pretending im a turtle, everything was great. their backplates and bands can't be beat. all the edges are round and smooth, nothing to wear through your harness or puncture your wing. my buddy has their fancy harness which im pretty jealous of and would recommend trying out if you can. i just used some webbing which will do for now but some improvements are definitely in order. i'm still getting used to the wing but i really like it so far. their stuff is built very well imo.

My Singles OMS rig with DR Weight System seems like new after aproaching 150 dives, top-notch materials and craftmanship, some minor wear is aparent, but it looks allmost new, I don't dive wrecks or caves, so my gear doesn't get scratched very often.

I'm very happy with it and plan on building another BP for doubles with OMS gear too.

Expensive, yes, but not as the H gear, DR is very good gear too.

I took the bungies off the wing. Works great.

TwoBit

They make non bungee wings as well.

Their gear is well made and better quality than most.

Their kit is great. My girlfriend uses the OMS harness (nice and padded for the ladies ya know) and bungeed wing and loves it to death. I just picked up an OMS dual blader wing to go with my steel BP and straps..... will see how it goes, but have faith in PMS in general. Price wise they are right in there with dive rite and oxycheq....not as expensive as H.
