The most I've personally seen were 7 on a scooter in India. Scenes like this are fairly common in some countries.

Yes. I rode on a train just like that one to Patna during a pilgrimage. The smart people (which I am not) were on the outside. Inside the train, it was so crowded that I fell asleep standing up during the trip and didn't fall over.

My feet got all cut up from a goat standing on them too because some guy got on the train with his goats and I guess I had the most attractive looking feet for a goat and I couldn't lean over to shoo him away.

P.S. As a matter of fact, most of their trains aren't that crowded.
