Anyone actually try these?

Honestly, I'm not interested in buying a pair or anything, but I will say that the idea is not without merit. I mean not having to do the "fin hop" to get in and out of the water is kind of appealing.

Since the idea is so alien to most, I'm sure most people wouldn't buy them since they'd feel unfashionable or dorky amongst their peers (just guessing here). :D

I'm curious though if anyone in the great breadth of Scubaboard has a set and what they think.

I use them and I like them very much.
When I dive Catalina's Casino Dive Park, they are just perfect. Walk in, kick and click - click, the fins engage. Upon exiting, a short kick on top of the foot releases the fin and provides an easy, simple, walk up and out. Like I said perfect.

On boat dives, no more shuffling around on deck, just jump in and kick.

There are those who have never tried them but still boo hoo them, but who cares? They work and work really well. Add to the flip feature, the fin itself is a great and provides excellent power and precise control when diving.

Very cool Dave! I'm glad to see someone chime in that is a user and happy.

They do intrigue me, while I'm not really thinking "purchase", I do have to wonder why the concept hasn't been more widely accepted.

Great pics too, sir! :D

Thanks.
Previous attempts to make a folding fin failed mainly due to material technology. Omega has seemingly overcome this with modern material chemistry.

The other segment of divers feel that the hinge may be an entanglement or failure hazard. I've found neither to be the case. BTW, dive here in the kelp and it gets hung up on anything, and I do mean anything but I have not noticed the fins getting snagged as yet.

Those look very interesting. I'd be interested in trying them, but as a poor student, that is a few year in the future! ::tucks idea away for later::

I have a pair and have been using them for a little over a year.
Very nice for walking around on a dive boat....awesome for shore diving as you can walk FORWARD into the surf.
The only thing I don't like about them is that you can only use flutter kicks with them.
Frog kicks tend to make them want to fold up into the folded up position.
If Omega could figure a way to make these fins work using various kicks....I'd make them the only fin I owned.

ber uses/used them, too. she had trouble with them folding during use, but might have worked it out.

I have a pair and have no problems with them folding back up. I too like them for shore dives and boat dives. The only issue I have is that they are VERY stiff.

I have no trouble with them folding up when frog kicking but contact Omega, they are guaranteed if there is a problem.

I'm surprised there's no Omega person monitoring this thread.

I'll have to call them and find out if my issue with frog kicks is normal.
