What ISO settings are you using with these photos? I ask since I see reds and that I use the 60mm on my EM5. Assuming you are shooting in RAW and then posting with JPEG, are the colors and saturation from the camera and lens? Or some editing? Filters?
I like the photos btw.

Beautiful photos, Jlyle...

I am also very interested to read what your impression is about AF OM-1 compared to your old camera (EM5II?)...

I am using both Zuiko 60mm and Pana 45mm macros on an EM1II. AF is set to the smallest area possible in the center. WIth C-AF and dumb focus, I reframe after I got the central point in focus (often the eye of an animal). So far it was never required to set the focus limiter on the lens before the dive. AF works o.k. (at least without diopter as CMC-1; with CMC-1 AF becomes difficult). I am eager to hear how much better and faster AF of OM-1 is...

A remark on f/22 that you mentioned in the other post: I never go to apertures so small. Already at f/13 (and smaller), I can see that the image looses resolution and becomes soft, because of diffraction.

Did you see the effects of diffraction clearly in underwater photos? What is the smallest aperature would you use without seeing the effects of diffraction? Did you mean f/13?

Hi Boltsnap,

I saw the softening of UW macro images made with Zuiko 60mm last year, when I was in Egypt: I was too lazy to turn down the flashes for proper adjustment and instead reduced aperture to f/13 -f/16. DOF is better, but everything within DOF is just less brilliant and soft, compared to wider apertures...

As a comprimise, I now take f/10 -f/12 for macros with Zuiko 60mm...

Beautiful!!!

Are all photo day dives or are there some night dives?

How's the focusing with the 60mm with the OM1 compared with the EM5? Is it faster with less hunting?
All images were taken during the day - but ambient light was dim due to overcast skies and a thick green layer of water above the bottom. Essentially, all light was from the strobes.

The 60mm is much faster to focus with the OM-1. I set the focal limit on the lens (0.19-4.0m).

ISO 200. I was shooting jpeg. Minor editing in PS.

My previous Oly was an EM-5 mark I. That's a big jump in camera development, more than ten years! I'm blown away by the OM-1. Hopefully, someone with newer Olympus cameras will comment on more recent improvements.

I did not use any diopters - the 60mm is enough magnification for me.

I was trying for greater DOF, hence f/22. I need to play with my settings and see if I can find the sweet spot.
